Discover Long Island Announces 2019 Tourism Award Recipients

LONG ISLAND, NY (November 12, 2019) – Discover Long Island is pleased to announce the 2019 recipients of the region’s annual Tourism Awards. Championing the efforts of Long Island’s $6.1 billion tourism industry, the awards honor the leaders, partners, and campaigns that best represent the service and spirit highlighted in the categories: Partner of the Year, Industry Advancement, Tourism Trailblazer and Tourism Legacy. The following honorees will be recognized at the Tourism Awards Gala held on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at The Fox Hollow in Woodbury.

- Industry Advancement Award – Long Island Regional Industrial Development Agencies (IDAs)
- Tourism Trailblazer Award – Long Island Railroad Third Track Expansion & Right Track Coalition
- Tourism Legacy Award – George Gorman Jr., Regional Director, NYS Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation
The Tourism Awards Gala will bring together the leaders in Long Island’s tourism industry to celebrate the people, products, and promotions that contributed to a record 2019. This year’s award ceremony will be presented by Long Island’s own Sal “The Voice” Valentinetti, 2016 Golden Buzzer recipient and finalist of America’s Got Talent.
