Effective Dec. 13, 2021 until Jan. 15, 2022, masks will be required to be worn in all indoor public places unless businesses or venues implement a vaccine requirement. Businesses and venues who implement a proof of vaccination requirement can accept Excelsior Pass, Excelsior Pass Plus, SMART Health Cards issued outside of New York State, or a CDC Vaccination Card. A violation of any provision of this measure is subject to all civil and criminal penalties, including a maximum fine of $1,000 for each violation. Discover Long Island is launching a $5,000 Suffolk County Arts and Culture Partnership Grant Program for the entire month of December. This program will allow up to 16 Suffolk County businesses including museums, art galleries, theaters, music venues and learning and cultural centers to receive a complimentary standard partnership with the organization for 2022 to help market their business and get more connected as our industry forges through recovery. Discover Long Island’s BeSafe Pledge enlists both businesses and guests to share their commitment to abide the BeSAFE Guidelines, BeLIEVE in our Commitment to safety protocols and BeHAVE guest pledge. Businesses that take the BeSAFE pledge will have access to free downloadable signage that can be displayed to allow customers to easily recognize those businesses who are volunteering and pledging to follow safety protocols. In addition, there is free signage that allows businesses to clearly communicate the expectations of customers to ensure the safety for all patrons and employees.
