DISCOVER LONG ISLAND UNVEILS NEW MOBILE VISITOR CENTER

This Next Generation Visitor Center Meets Travelers on-the-go with Instant Relevant Information and Interactive Programming

LONG ISLAND, NY (October 11, 2018) ­– Discover Long Island’s first-ever mobile visitor center will make its official debut at the 35th annual Oyster Festival in Oyster Bay October 13-14, 2018. The innovative conversion of an iconic Long Island ice cream truck allows the region’s official tourism bureau to directly access prospective visitors at tourist hot spots and major events.

After a robust social media contest that generated hundreds of entries to name the new tourism asset, LiLi (pronounced Lily), was selected as the new moniker for this next generation visitor center.

Lili will connect with travelers and locals on-the-go with activations including destination information, virtual reality offerings, giveaways and insider travel knowledge. As the new voice for Long Island visitor information, residents and travelers can follow LiLi on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram @DiscoverLiLi for an updated event schedule, insider tips and more.

LiLi will have a full calendar of events and activities where Destination Ambassadors will interact with the public and provide local expertise on the endless ways to Discover Long Island. As an added feature, Discover Long Island’s new IOS App is now available for download on the Google Play Store. Through the new App, travelers have easy access to Book Your Trip, Explore, Things to Do, and Travel & Meeting Professional Tips assets for the region.
