LONG ISLAND, NY (November 18, 2025) - Discover Long Island (DLI), the region’s only accredited destination marketing organization, has launched its winter campaign, You Are Here, celebrating Suffolk County and the greater Long Island region’s community, culture, and sense of belonging, while inspiring residents to rediscover the treasures in their own backyard.
As Long Island transitions from crisp autumn days to cozy winter nights, You Are Here highlights the people, places, and moments that make Long Island extraordinary. The campaign invites locals to embrace the season to its fullest, whether exploring a local downtown, hiking a scenic trail, shopping small for the holidays, or enjoying a night out at a local restaurant or theatre show.
“You Are Here is more than a campaign, it’s a call to action for Long Islanders to support the small businesses, cultural institutions, and local landmarks that shape who we are,” said Discover Long Island Interim President & CEO, Mitch Pally. “Long Island isn’t just where we live, it’s a part of our identity.”
Anchored by four messaging pillars: You Are Here… in Nature, Community, Culture, and Flavor - the campaign showcases Suffolk County’s numerous, lively towns and villages, its cultural landmarks and natural beauty, small businesses, top-tier dining experiences and award-winning Long Island Wine Country, and much more. Through authentic storytelling and locally driven themes, the campaign encourages residents to explore their own backyard while reinforcing Discover Long Island’s role as a trusted guide and resource along the way.
“When residents choose to explore their own communities, they’re not just making memories, they’re strengthening our local economy, deepening their sense of local pride, and helping Long Island thrive year-round,” said Discover Long Island Chief Operating Officer, Sharon Wyman, CDME.
The campaign is running across print, digital, broadcast, and social media channels. Local voices and video features with authentic footage of real Long Islanders rather than actors are spotlighting true regional winter experiences, while partnerships with local news and media outlets highlight seasonal shopping and events. Targeted digital ads, geofencing, and local radio placements will also extend campaign reach throughout the drive market.
By spotlighting local adventures and hometown favorites, You Are Here redefines this winter season as a time to get out and connect with your community and remember why Suffolk County, Long Island is such a remarkable place to live, work, and play, 365 days a year.
