LONG ISLAND, NY - Sports Events magazine readers and Facebook fans have selected their top seven picks for “Top Sports Vacation Spots” and Long Island is honored to have made the list.

Sports Events editors compiled a Facebook ballot with a list of 30 family-friendly sports destinations. From those 30 “Sports Vacation Spots,” including breezy mountain retreats, popular lake and river destinations, and oceanfront resort towns, fans were asked to vote for their top picks.

“Traveling to sports events has become a true family affair and a major undertaking for any family, so turning a sports trip into a mini- vacation or even a full blown vacation can be very appealing.” said Sports Events Executive Editor John Rezell. “Families get amped about the opportunity to do fun and exciting things during free time when traveling to an event, and that just adds to their experience and memories.”

The February print and digital issue of Sports Events will share this list with over 16,000 sports events planners and key decision makers. Destinations are listed by state:

Ventura County, CA

Panama City Beach, FL

Daytona Beach, FL

**Long Island, NY**

Sandusky, OH (Lake Erie Shores & Islands)

Virginia Beach, VA

Snohomish County, WA
