Quogue Wildlife Refuge

The Quogue Wildlife Refuge is a 305 non-profit nature preserve located in Quogue. Founded in 1934, the Refuge has a unique history as one of Long Island’s oldest nature preserves, transforming from the Quogue Ice Company to wildlife sanctuary for waterfowl. 

The seven miles of hiking trails are free to visit every day of the year from sunrise to sunset. Take a peaceful hike through the Pine Barrens, walk along Quantuck Creek at the Fairy Dell Boardwalk, or visit with the permanently injured wildlife in the Outdoor Wildlife Complex. Dogs and bicycles are NOT permitted. 

Inside the Nature Center, you can learn about Long Island’s habitats, shop at the Refuge gift shop, and see more animals! Educational programming, children’s camps, and special events are offered year-round.

There is no admission fee; donations are greatly appreciated.
