Signature Event: Port Jefferson’s Annual Dickens Festival

Tis’ the season to be merry and nothing will brighten your holiday spirit quite like Port Jefferson’s Annual Dickens Festival. Now in its 23rd year, the village of Port Jefferson will magically transform into the Dickensian era with streets filled with roaming characters, carolers and performances. This not-to-be-missed event will be held December 1st – 2nd, 2018 and is open to the public with most attractions free of charge to attendees.

Just a Few of our Favorite Dickensian Things:

Get into Character: The walkable town boasts friendly characters who help transport you into the era bygone. Be on the lookout for Father Christmas, the Dickens Mayor, Scrooge, the Town Crier and the chimney sweeps.

Endless Activities: Ice skating, cookie workshops, nutcracker performances and magic shows- this holiday-themed weekend is brimming with fun for the whole family.

A Visit to the North Pole: Head to Santa’s workshop and share your seasonal wish list.

S’more please: Head to the center of town for the ultimate build your own S’more station complete with a bonfire and s’more building essentials.

Meet Oreo: Stop by Island Christian Church for a Horse & Carriage ride around town. Say hi to Oreo, a friendly white and black spotted horse who loves to give passengers a ride through the village.

Cookieland: Throw on your apron and decorate some holiday cookies at interactive design stations held at Danford’s Bayles Hall.
