BROOKLYN, NY -(December 1, 2015) – Today, Tough Mudder, the premier 10-12 obstacle course challenge designed to test physical & mental strength, stamina and teamwork, announces its second return to Old Bethpage, NY with two events on the weekend of July 23. The Sunday event, Tough Mudder Half will debut for the first time in New York with a five-mile course and at least a dozen signature Tough Mudder obstacles. The shorter format event will not include more daunting obstacles with Fire, Ice and Electricity the full Tough Mudder event is known for, instead focusing on obstacles that require teamwork and less training.
Old Bethpage Restoration Village will once again play host to Tough Mudder & Tough Mudder Half Long Island; Tough Mudder remains dedicated to the preservation of this historic site, and is committed to returning the venue back to its original state following the event. Nearly 8,000 participants took part in last year’s event, providing an overwhelmingly positive economic impact on the region. Last year’s event generated an estimated $2.5 million economic benefit to the community, and local businesses have expressed positive sentiments towards having Tough Mudder return in 2016.
