Sagamore Hill was the home of Theodore Roosevelt, 26th President of the United States, from 1885 until his death in 1919. An interesting fact about Theodore Roosevelt is that he spent much of his time at what he called his “Summer White House” here on Long Island.

The home of Theodore Roosevelt is now a National Historic Site in Oyster Bay and is open as a museum to visitors. Field trips are welcome. Nearby is the nature preserve established in his name and also the final resting spot of the late President at Young’s Cemetery.

While in Oyster Bay, visit Planting Fields Arboretum with 409 acres of gardens and an historic mansion, or travel  to nearbyRaynham Hall Museum, once home to members of George Washington’s Culper Spy Ring.
