This 115 acre park, one of the central Nassau’s great family parks, caters to youth with several sports and play areas, including age appropriate swimming and playground facilities. Its swimming complex features an Olympic size pool, two water slides, diving pool, as well as a kiddie pool, training pool and interactive water play area. The park’s playground has designated areas for children of all age groups, from pre schoolers to teens. Children’s eyes light up when they see the park’s indoor artificial ice skating rink. Open year round, the rink offers skating lessons, for both group and individual instruction, as well as various hockey programs. Cantiague Park features a nine hole, par 30 course and a lighted and heated driving range. For miniature golf lovers, there is a challenging 18 hole mini golf course. Day and night lighted (in season) handball, paddle ball, tennis and basketball courts are another highlight of the park, as well as four softball fields and four soccer fields. If you are looking to picnic on a spring or summer day, you can enjoy an unreserved picnic area, or a reserved area for a small fee. This course plays fair. You’ll get to use your irons for many of the shots. The fairways are wide open, and the greens are medium-sized. This is an easy course to walk and play for all skill levels of golfer. The course is closed every Tuesday, and there are discounts available for the disabled and volunteer fire fighters. Senior discounts are only valid during the weekdays. This course is one of five municipal golf courses in Nassau County. The others are Christopher Morley Park, N. Woodmere Park, Bay Park, and Eisenhower Park.
