TASTE NORTH FORK WEEKEND ON LONG ISLAND

On Nov. 8 and 9, you can go out to Long Island Wine Country to find a whole bunch of special events, wine tastings, cellar tours, discounts and there will  be a free shuttle service running between  Tanger Outlets, the Mattituck LIRR station, Greenport, and the Cross Sound Ferry in Orient Point.

The weekend includes:

Special tastings and events at wineries and other local craft beverage producers, as well as a range of activities and offers at local restaurants, shops and historical sites from Riverhead to Greenport.

There will be a Riverhead loop, for stops between Riverhead and Love Lane in Mattituck, as well as a Greenport loop, for stops between Mattituck and Greenport.

The shuttles will circulate every 35-45 minutes from noon to 5:30 pm with passenger access from the Long Island Rail Road station in Mattituck, the Cross Sound Ferry terminal in Orient Point, and the Office Max/Pottery Barn parking lot at Tanger Outlets in Riverhead.

Access to the shuttle loops will also be provided by a new Hampton Jitney I Love NY bus tour.

A key feature of the program is a free ”hop on-hop off” shuttle service that will circulate throughout the North Fork, connecting wineries and the region’s historic hamlets. The service will provide easy access from the New York City and New England with links to the Long Island Rail Road and Cross Sound Ferry in New London, Connecticut.

The free shuttle from Riverhead to Orient Point will be made available to visitors in partnership with the Hampton Jitney. The shuttles will start circulation at noon and end at 6 pm with passenger access from the Long Island Rail Road station in Mattituck and Cross Sound Ferry terminal in Orient Point.
