Spy for a Day: The Brewster House was built in 1665 and is considered the oldest house in the Town of Brookhaven. During the American Revolution, Joseph Brewster operated the house as a tavern and general store, entertaining British troops inside.  American Patriot Caleb Brewster, a frequent visitor to the house, was a member of George Washington’s Culper Spy Ring during the Revolutionary War. You can experience the Brewster House through the “Become a Spy” and “A Day in the Life of the Colonial Child” educational tours.

East End Seaport Museum: Favorites include the collection of Fresnel lenses and Bug Light Lighthouse exhibit. Kids can get up close with marine life and learn nautical skills during the array of hands-on creative activities. Spark your curiosity and use your imagination at Captain Bob's Quarterdeck, the children orientated touch-and-explore room.

Long Island Aquarium and Exhibition Center: Be in amazement with one of the largest all-living coral reef displays in this hemisphere and a 120,000-gallon shark tank. The entire family will enjoy year-round sea lion shows, touch tanks for a stingray interaction, and the very colorful butterflies’ exhibit. Experience and choose from more than 100 exhibits and interactive experiences including a shark dive and penguin encounter.

Cold Spring Harbor Fish Hatchery & Aquarium: Feed and catch trout at the largest living collection of New York State freshwater reptiles, fishes and amphibians. There is an underwater world to explore with the two aquarium buildings and eight outdoor ponds.

Deep Hollow Ranch: Snap a picture of western style on the beach at the oldest cattle ranch in the U.S. Deep Hollow Ranch serves as the perfect backdrop while the family horseback rides through trails that wind through breathtaking scenery and pristine coastline on the white sand.

Cradle of Aviation: Set your imagination free while exploring the exhibits at Long Island’s Air and Space Museum. The high-tech, fun and friendly exhibits will serve as the backdrop for a family picture through space.

Greenport Antique Carousel: The restored vintage 1920’s carousel paired with beautiful scenery in Mitchell Park is an activity for the kids to enjoy that will create a lovely picture moment. For some friendly competition try to grab the brass ring for a free ride.

Animal Encounters

Animal Farm Petting Zoo: Pet and feed hundreds of rescued animals including monkeys, wallabies and mini horses. Interact with exotics, reptiles, wildlife, farm animals and enjoy train rides and musical puppet shows.

Long Island Game Farm Wildlife Park and Children’s Zoo: The hundreds of animals include both exotic and indigenous breeds. Get nose-to-nose with the Clifford the giraffe, bottle-feed the newly born animals, stroll through Bambiland, and ride ponies.
