Santa Claus is Coming to Town: A Guide to Santa Spotting’s on Long Island This Holiday Season

December 6, 2017

From tree lightings to special breakfasts, don’t miss your chance to tell Santa what you want for the holidays during one of his many stops on Long Island this December. Here is our go-to guide of where Santa will be this holiday season.

Glen Cove Mansion
Enjoy holiday treats like red velvet pancakes, eggnog waffles and peppermint stick French toast at the Glen Cove Mansion’s Santa breakfast. Santa will be handing out candy canes, small toys and, of course, will be available for pictures.

The Garden City Hotel
The Garden City Hotel is decking the halls this holiday season for breakfast with Santa. Along with keepsake photos with Santa, the festive day will include cookie decorating, an ornament station, the chance to write letters and a special visit by characters in the Nutcracker.

Fire Island Lighthouse
Christmas comes to the beach at the Fire Island Lighthouse. In 1953, Pilot Snow flew his plane past the lighthouse to leave a gift for the Lighthouse Keeper and his family. Take part in the 15th annual reenactment of this historical event and get the chance to take a photo with Santa.

Holiday Inn Express Stony Brook
Santa and Mrs. Claus will be visiting the storybook town of Stony Brook for an afternoon full of pictures at the Holiday Inn Express Stony Brook.

Long Island Aquarium and Exhibition Center
Bring in the season with a Santa buffet brunch at the Long Island Aquarium. Take photos with Santa and create a holiday keepsake at the Sea Star ballroom and then continue the fun filled day at the Aquarium.

Mill Neck Manor House
Visit Santa’s Workshop at Mill Neck Manor, a majestic Tudor Revival mansion. The enchanting Mill Neck Manor is transformed into a winter wonderland with dashing holiday décor. Take photos with Santa and sip on hot cocoa while enjoying baked treats from Mrs. Claus. Experience the Festival of Wreaths, take a tour of the historic mansion and create holiday crafts.

Danfords Hotel & Marina
Have brunch with Santa at Danfords Hotel, Marina & Spa, a boutique hotel overlooking the Long Island Sound. Celebrate the holidays with this Santa meet and great and then explore the downtown village of Port Jefferson.

NYIT de Seversky Mansion
Celebrate the holidays in a mansion at the NYIT de Seversky Mansion which embodies Gatsby-era opulence. Have brunch with Santa and enjoy a hot chocolate bar, Omelette station, and chocolate fountain and then take a keepsake photo with Santa.

Planting Fields Arboretum

Stop by the greenhouse to experience the spectacular poinsettia display and enjoy refreshments in the café.  Coe Hall will be decorated for the season and open to visitors.
