LONG ISLAND, NY  (MAY 15, 2025) Discover Long Island (DLI), the region’s only accredited destination marketing organization, is proud to announce the continuation of its successful partnership with News 12 for season two of The East End, a series which airs on News 12 on Saturdays and Sundays at 9:30 a.m., and features a 90-second “Spotlight” segment produced in-house by Discover Long Island.

 

Launched initially in May 2024, this partnership was the first of its kind for Discover Long Island, sponsoring the weekend series hosted by News 12 Long Island anchors, Erin Colton and Joe Arena. Recognizing the success of DLI’s already established YouTube series, Long Island TV, Discover Long Island saw this partnership as a way to further expand its reach through News 12’s iconic series, The East End. Alongside News 12, Discover Long Island’s Brianna McEnroe hosts a custom segment within the weekend show, spotlighting top tourism businesses in Discover Long Island’s partner network, similar to the work McEnroe already did throughout the organization’s Long Island TV series prior to this partnership. By airing on News 12 Long Island, Connecticut, New Jersey, Westchester, Hudson Valley, and Brooklyn, these segments extend beyond local audiences, reaching travelers across the Northeast and significantly broadening Long Island’s exposure.

 

Building on the success of Season 1, the new season will once again bring those exclusive, in-depth features highlighting DLI partners - from award-winning restaurants and boutique accommodations to unique attractions and seasonal experiences. The all-new season of The East End launched on Saturday, May 10, 2025.

Season 1 of The East End generated strong results for Discover Long Island and its featured partners, including an increase in subscribers and viewership to DLI’s YouTube and other social media channels. Discover Long Island’s segments on The East End have reached 334K YouTube views and 917.5K Instagram views. Distributed across Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok, each DLI segment helps enhance Long Island’s visibility and drives measurable visitation to local business partners. With 1 million households reached annually, 4.2 million digital impressions, and 100 million viewing minutes, the series partnership continues to be a powerful driver of tourism, increasing awareness and visitation to Long Island’s diverse attractions.

 

Twenty-two DLI partners were featured in the inaugural season, including but not limited to The Suffolk, Sound View Greenport, East Wind Shoppes, Silly Lily Fishing Station, Splish Splash, Riverhead Brew House, Long Island Game Farm, Cranberry Bog Nature Preserve, and The Baker House 1650. Five more DLI partners have already been featured in 2025 as Season 2 gets underway, including Long Island Music & Entertainment Hall of Fame, Montauk Manor Resort, Bridgehampton Inn, Guild Hall of East Hampton, and Southampton Inn, with many other segments planned to continue this impactful storytelling.

Each DLI segment airs for two consecutive weekends on News 12 Long Island, Connecticut, New Jersey, Westchester, Hudson Valley, and Brooklyn, along with a 45-second teaser which is aired during the weekday newscasts to promote the show. This ensures Discover Long Island is fully visible on the screens of consumers of News 12 nearly 7 days a week. Discover Long Island also repurposes the videos on its own social channels and platforms, expanding each promotion to even more viewers.  

 

Running through December 2025, this continued partnership with DLI segments included on The East End further solidifies Discover Long Island’s position as a dynamic, year-round voice for the region, driving visitation, economic growth, and regional pride through compelling content and strategic media partnerships.
