The Belmont Stakes holds the title of the oldest of the three Triple Crown events. Not only holding the title of the oldest Triple Crown race, the Belmont Stakes is North America’s fourth oldest race. The first running of the Belmont Stakes dates back to 1867 at Jerome Park.
