Railroad Museum of Long Island has two locations, Greenport and Riverhead, dedicated to preserving and displaying Long Island Railroad history while educating the public on the importance of the railroad and its development on the Island.
The museum is in a refurbished 1890's LIRR Freight Station. Exhibits depicting Long Island's rail roading history. HO Gauge model of Greenport rail facilities 1907 snow plow, "Jaws III"and cabosse #14 adjacent to museum. Historic rail road turntable nearby.
