Harrison’s Pond Town Park

This small town park is an example of a neighborhood park that is an excellent birdwatching location. The park is centered around an old Ice Pond in the middle of a highly developed suburban area. This park attracts a huge number of birds including such birds as Ruby-throated Hummingbird, Eastern Phoebe, Eastern wood-pewee, Red-eyed vireo, Tennessee Warbler, Yellow warbler, Northern Parula, Nashville warbler, American Redstart, Wilson’s Warbler, Common Yellow throat, Belted Kingfisher, Downy and red-bellied Woodpeckers, Northern Flicker, Carolina Wren. The pond also attracts Great Blue Heron, Great Egret, Little Blue Heron, Mallard Ducks Wood Ducks, Gad wall and Green-winged Teal. Directions: From Route 25A turn north on Landing Ave, and continue to the end of the road. Turn left onto Landing Road then right at the first traffic light St. Johnland Road. The pond is on the left side of the road about a half mile from Landing Road.
