Filled with a varied collection of furniture and objects, the Sherwood-Jayne house is located in a bucolic setting with sheep grazing in the adjoining pasture. Hand painted floral wall frescoes imitating expensive wallpaper decorate the east parlor. When he acquired the 18th century Jayne family homestead in 1908, SPLIA founder Howard Sherwood initiated a lifetime of collecting, studying and living with antiques.
Don’t miss the annual apple festival held at the farm the last Sunday of September.
