Grant Park is chock full of sports, starting with its popular outdoor ice skating/roller rink, open for public session year round and available for hire. The 35 ace park offers an artificial ice skating rink and sledding on its hill during those cool winter months as well. Horseshoes, shuffleboard, basketball, tennis, soccer, and softball are some of the other sports open to visitors.
The park's three separate play areas are divided by age group. There is an area for preschoolers, children ages four to eight and a more advanced area for children ages nine through twelve. In the summer, both children and adults can enjoy the spray pool, with picnic areas and barbecue grills nearby. Picnic areas are available on a first come, first serve basis, and reserved areas require a fee. A nearby lake provides scenic views enjoyed by many anglers seeking bass of other freshwater fish.
